Leadership and the NHS
In October 2009, I had the pleasure of attending an NHS leadership and management conference at Brighton racecourse. The day was full of inspiring, motivating and thought provoking presentations from a diverse selection of NHS and guest speakers.
The 100 plus strong audience of NHS leaders had the opportunity to witness an inspirational presentation from swimming legend and Olympic Gold Medallist Adrian Moorhouse.

Adrian's powerful presentation explored the challenges of modern day leadership and touched on topics such as innovation, resilience and mental toughness.
However, the performance of the day had to go to Lee Balcombe, Cara Mitchell and Sue Donald from Southdowns NHS Trust.
Lee, Cara and Sue
OK! I may be biased as the 3 NHS leaders are all recent delegates of an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) programme delivered by The Learning Labyrinth.
Sue Donald from the 'Looked after Children Health Team' was without doubt my star of the day. Sue managed to deliver in less than 10 minutes an enlightening, engaging and passionate presentation about how she has managed to apply her learning from the ILM programme to her role during the past twelve months, including using her enhanced influencing skills to secure further funding for her team.
Sue claimed that just a year ago she would have turned down the opportunity to present - so well done Sue!
Without doubt a Gold Medal winning performance.

Testimonial
As a result of my coaching - I have grown in confidence, become a better line manager (I hope!) and feel that I have a 'toolbox' of skills I can dip into as and when needed. Gary and his team at The Learning Labyrinth were a fantastic support and inspiration.
