On the 17th June 2009 a group of NHS employees was invited to celebrate their achievement in gaining an ILM (Institute of Leadership and Management) Level 3 Award in First Line Management.
The ILM is the UK's premier awarding body for qualifications in leadership and management. The Award programme is the first in a development pathway which aims to develop the knowldge and skills today's managers need to get the most from their people and teams.
Designed and delivered by The Learning Labyrinth, the programme was specifically developed with NHS challenges in mind and included modules on Building Teams, Managing Quality and Problem Solving. With a strong work-based focus, delegates have had to apply their learning to real situations - ensuring their skills are transferred to the workplace. A Level 3 Certificate programme is also being delivered for NHS delegates.
The successful delegates attended a Graduation Day at the Audrey Emerton Building, at the Royal Sussex County Hospital Brighton. The event included some impressive presentations where staff demonstrated some of what they had learnt, and was an opportunity for line managers and senior NHS leaders to thank the staff for their commitment to the programme.
