Welcome!

November 15th 2011

As the end of the year approaches, most of us will be taking stock of events in 2011 and looking forward to how we can improve business in the forthcoming year. Some of our goals will be to boost revenue, broaden our client base and promote and grow the business through the use of social marketing. To help us achieve these objectives, The Learning Labyrinth are pleased to announce some exciting new initiatives for 2012.

Due to the resounding success of our last Linked-In course, we are repeating it again. This time adding an advanced course and an opportunity for an exciting "Networking Day" at our central Brighton location, in the Laines (see below for more details), it will be a great way to kick off 2012 and make some great connections.

In addition, maybe you or your team are interested in becoming qualified in Leadership, Management or Coaching and Mentoring skills?  During 2012 we are extending our offer of Institute Of Learning and Management courses - so watch this space for news or contact us here We are also able to provide you with some opportunities to halve costs of any training and development that you are considering, before March 2012. You may be eligible to apply for Leadership and Management matched funding by contacting the The Learning Labyrinth here.

Power of Linked-In For Your Business

If you use Linked-In well, you will be much more efficient but far more importantly, it will ensure you are walking through open doors instead of making cold calls. You will enhance your reputation and the profile of your company, as well as accessing outstanding information and opportunities that you would previously have missed.

Ten Compelling Reasons to Actively Engage on Linked-In

1.   Linked-In represents the largest and most current business database available in the world today. The site is currently used in over 200 countries with more than half of the users coming from outside of the U.S. You can now connect just as readily with someone in Sao Paulo, Singapore, San Francisco or New York, than you can a colleague in London.

2.   One professional joins the site at one member per second - Linked-In membership has grown to 131.2 million, an increase of 63% in the past year. Linked-In are therefore making great progress toward their ultimate goal: to connect all of the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.

3.   If  you think about any lost contacts over the last 10 years or more, find those people on Linked-In and get back in touch. Use this as part of your ‘Keep In Touch’ strategy and it will help you to reach out powerfully to past contacts.

4.   Once you know how, you can perfect new business prospects that are geographically suitable for your marketing strategy. The tools within Linked-In can uncover all the business contacts you’ll ever need, within your geographic location and within the specific sectors that are of interest to you. You can even find the size of organisation you prefer to approach or for the name of the decision-maker you wish to engage.

5.   Linked-In enables you to connect to your network from home and at work. The percentage of users logging on from home/work (UK): 38% business / 62% home. Many users are surfing Linked-In after hours, looking for opportunities and valuable business insights.

6.   Over 75% of top 100 firms still do not have Linked-In accounts on their website homepage – great news for firms looking to utilise this tool while your competitors catch up. (Research undertaken by Insight March 2011). We can show you how to set up a Companies Page - see below for more info…

7.   Promote your brand to potential employees, showcase your jobs, employees and company culture on-line where people are actively seeking new work opportunities. Or seek out the right candidates, even passive ones, through quick and simple search techniques. Both methods save more time and money than traditional methods of recruiting.

8.   Linked-In is dominated by households who earn £50,000 or more - meaning that you can access higher worth individuals. Linked-In typically has a younger base of 25 – 34 year olds that have high incomes – so if you are looking for talented recruits or new customers in that demographic, Linked-In definitely is the right place to start.

9.   Engage exactly the right people. 20% of Linked-In users are senior level executives and managers. Over 60% are either decision-makers in their companies or have direct influence of decision making.

10.  Be connected at the right places using Linked-In Events. Find the right events, faster, by searching by industry sector and then easily searching for the attendees you may want to meet there. This way your will save time and money by connecting to them beforehand or you can effectively plan how you will spend your time networking the event.

We can show you how to use this feature on our networking day on January 18th.

To derive the full benefits of both face-to-face networking and on-line networking you should be regularly and consistently participating at both. If you want to discover how to do this more successfully, please join us at our forthcoming training event:
