In this months newsletter we will be sharing some news about the possibility of halving the costs of your training needs, and also thanking all my sponsors of the London to Brighton Charity Bike Ride that I did back on September 11th - more of that later...
Ready for action!
As you know, I am a passionate advocate of developing people so that they are fully engaged within the business they are working.
Whether part of a growing SME, social enterprise or a larger organisation. So I wanted to make you aware of an opportunity to greatly reduce the costs of any training and development costs you are considering before March 2012.
You may be eligible to apply for Leadership and Management funding, but there are only four months left to apply!
If you previously accessed the Leadership and Management grant prior to 1st April 2011, you may be eligible to access it again.

All New Applications must be made by the end of February 2012
Understand what skills you need – We will help you identify your personal development needs at a face-to-face meeting at your place of work or other venue convenient to you.
Finding the right solution – Develop your leadership and management skills and find the right one to suit your individual needs.
Solutions can be:-
- Coaching
- Building Powerful Teams
- Workshops with Forum Learning
- Bespoke training tailored to your needs
The Grant must be used for Leadership and Management Development, that develop the skills of the applicant to enable them to fully engage and optimise the contribution of their staff and therefore grow the business.
Eligible provision will fall under one of the following categories:-
- Developing a highly effective personal leadership and management style – including strategic thinking and effective communication
- Creating an improved culture with the workforce – such as producing a productive culture for the organisation, developing productive working relationships, reducing and managing workplace conflict
- Planning and developing an effective organisation and team – including recruitment and selection, building and managing effective, creative and innovative teams
- Leading and managing employee high performance – including employee motivation and commitment, delivering value, learning and development.

Up to £1,000 in grant funding to help pay for the training solution – this grant will pay for 50% of the fees excluding VAT up to the maximum amount of £1,000. For example:
- If the training programme costs £1,000 + VAT, you can claim back £500.
- If the training programme costs £2,500 + VAT, you can claim back £1000.
We will agree with you how this investment matched by your own, will achieve measurable returns for your business.
Eligibility Criteria
This offer is available to private sector businesses or social enterprises that:-
- Have between 2 to 250 full time employees, and
- Have at least one employee in addition to the senior leader, and
- Have the potential for high or fast growth
to find out how we can best serve your needs in order to provide you with the tools for future growth.
- I personally raised over £500 and beat my previous best time by over two hours! It was the perfect weather for the ride, and although the infamous hill at Ditchling Beacon still proved to be a challenge (and I walked!), the hours of training I put in really paid off!
