To provide team leaders and managers with the skills and knowledge required to develop their staff

Target Audience

All team leaders and managers new to staff development

Objectives

This course will enable candidates to:

• describe a systematic approach to training
• understand the role of learning styles in developing individuals
• use a model leadership styles to train and develop staff
• describe a range of training methods and media
• design and deliver a short trainer led group session
• understand the role of coaching in the workplace
• use a coaching model
• give effective feedback in a coaching situation

Structure

A 3 day programme

Assessment Methods

Candidates will be assessed throughout the 3 days through tutor observation.  In addition their contribution to a final group presentation will be assessed.

On successful completion

The candidates will receive:

• an ILM certificate recognising their achievement
• 6 months membership of the ILM (with all the benefits of Studying Membership)
